Overgrown Conifer trees height reduction - How we solved a pensioner's 'monstrosity' in Childwall, Liverpool
Mr. Bennet had an ongoing problem with an overgrown conifer blocking light into his kitchen and main living space, in Childwall, Liverpool.
We restored light to this Liverpool pensioner aged 100 years, Mr. Bennet.
An overgrown conifer obstructed his garden view. It made his living space dark. He had to switch the lights on during the day for lack of natural light.

"I'd tell anybody what a damn good job they made. Northwest Landscapes are excellent in their work. And not only that, the price was very much acceptable"
- Mr Bennet, Childwall
Overgrown conifer trees can cause problems
Conifers trees such as the very common, Leylandii, are commonly used as privacy screens to block off neighbouring properties or as security 'fences'. Properly managed and cut regularly, they work effectively. They're quick growing and cheap.
Growth from these conifers will often surprise homeowners. A homeowner can quickly realise the height is blocking light, causing neighbour tension, or has just gotten too big to deal with domestic ladders and hedge cutters.
North West Landscapes Ltd are professional tree surgeons with over 37 years expertise working for domestic and commercial clients.
We won't make a drama from an overgrown conifer tree. We also clean up afterwards and will remove any debris. We chip larger branches onsite and remove all waste.

Full Interview Transcript:
Interviewer:
What was your tree like before, before you actually had to cut down?
Mr Bennet:
It was a monstrosity. It was bloody awful. I've had it cut several times, but nothing like this. I can get the advantage of nature in the way of light.
Interviewer:
How did you find North West Landscapes' work?
Mr Bennet:
Oh, very good, very very industrious, without a doubt. It's almost as if he had a comb and scissors trimming it down. The thing was done professionally. There is no amateur about it. No amateurish nothing. It was a proper professional job. They kept on going. In fact, you would never know they'd been here. It was absolutely amazing.
Every blinking bit of rubbish had gone, disappeared. Ive got more light in, I don't have to put the electric eyes lights.
There's plenty of light -You can see that for yourself. They made a very very excellent job of doing it.
And not only that, but the price as regards cutting down was, was very, much acceptable. Just get in touch with you.
I'd tell anybody what a damn good job they made. There was no stopping for tea. I tried try to get them tea and biscuits and they said, "no, we much prefer to get on with the job, instead of wasting time". Excellent, excellent. Northwest Landscapes are excellent in their work, the tree had got out of control. Just look at this, look at the amount of sky The the now even, even the birds will have plenty of light through the top now.
