Grounds Maintenance Contractor at Strawberry Field 

We're the grounds maintenance contractor at Strawberry Field, the world world famous Beaconsfield site, home of the Salvation Army, in Woolton, Liverpool L24.  They rely on to keep the site in tip top condition. The work includes grass cutting, hedge and shrubs management and planning beds to give seasonal colour.

We provide a comprehensive service. As tree surgeons we work to manage the trees on site, ensure their longevity by working to an up to date tree survey. It means we might thin some trees, remove dead wood and ivy, and remove some trees which are diseased or dead.  By actively to managing Strawberry Field's trees, we reduce the stress on older species during winter high winds. By taking out weak limbs, reduce the risk to staff and visitors.

Potted history Strawberry Field

Strawberry Field was built in 1878 for a shipping magnate in the prosperous suburb of Liverpool. It was bought by the Salvation Army in 1934 and turned into a children’s home.

As a child, John Lennon would get excited to hear the Salvation Army band strike up, appealing for his aunt Mimi to take him round to see them play.  The place gets about 60,000 visitors a year. The old house is gone, a new visitor centre and garden walk provides a contemplative, reflective space for tourists. People come to see the iconic red gates, or see the piano Lennon composed 'Imagine' on - a bequest from the late singer, George Michael.
